Day for the Arts, 2017 - Indiana Arts Commission, Big Tent
In 2017 the Indiana Arts Commission invited Big Tent to be the featured piece in a ‘take over’ of the Indiana State House. While the legislature was in session Big Tent was setup for a daf in the capitol rotunda to display imagery and video from all of the recipients of IAC funding in the previous year. This showcase was intended to raise the visibility of the Arts, and the show the impact of state funding for the arts in Indiana.
State wide IAC partners, recipients, artists, and state legislators were invited to attend a formal welcome by the chair of the IAC, in addition to visiting Big Tent throughout the day to see the breadth of artistic work going on in the state.
